Pisa, Cinque Terre i Malta 2015

wpadam w zachwyt / going into raptures

Malta - Marsaxlokk
27.09.2015
2 713 km

So many people get off in Marsaxlokk. There's a fish market here today. It's every Sunday. Theoretically, 'cause from this side it's just a market with chinese stuff, typically commercial and typically for tourists.
So I get through the stalls to the pier, to see the port. Ah, so beautiful!
I start making photos and I can't leave those fabulous colourful and shapely luzzu boats :) Great! I walk and walk and I still don't have enough!

port w Masaxlokk / the port in Marsaxlokk

Potem jednak idę pooglądać stragany. Wśród tej całej chińszczyzny można jednak coś ciekawego znaleźć. Na przykład tradycyjne maltańskie ciasteczka. Migdałowe. I z czekoladą, w kształcie łódki. Pycha! Kilogram kosztuje 25 euro.
Ośmiornice, kalmary, krewetki, inne rybki, same pyszności, a wszystko prosto z morza.

Then I go to take a look at the stalls. Well, one can find also something interesting among all that chinese stuff. For example traditional maltese sweets. Almond. Or with chocolate, boat shaped. Yummy! One kilo is 25 euro. There are also spices, olives and cheeses and traditional sicilian granita - at least they shout so, but in such a place who knows?
The fish market is at the very end and it's not a big one but the most interesting! Octopuses, squids, prawns and other fish and all that stright from the sea. It's a pity that finally when I get here there isn't much left. And it's a pity I can't buy anything, but I can't carry fish till the end of the day... But I like it anyway.

targ rybny / the fish market

Słonko grzeje, wiaterek wieje, a ja widoki mam cudne. Cała zatoka w łódkach luzzu i kościółek. Ekstra!
Fajnie :)

After the fish market there are more chinese stuff. I still don't have enough of the boats so I go to the pier near the tourist information again and I sit down on the ground. The sun is shining, the wind is blowing, and there are beautiful views. The whole bay of luzzu boats and the church. Marvelous!
A fisherman comes, he makes something on his boat, he talks to me. I guess he can see that everyone comes for a moment to make one photo, and I sit here and have a good time. Nice :)

łodzie luzzu / luzzu boats

Zagłębiam się trochę w uliczki, gdy Anglicy tłumnie siedzą w knajpach i jedzą lunch. Uliczki prawie puste, jasne. Domki z tradycyjnymi balkonami.

I dip into the streets when the english crowd sits in restaurants having lunch. The streets are almost empty and fair. The houses with traditional balconies. I don't have enough of looking at them! And there is also a church.
At Malta every house has it's own special name. Not every house has a number, but they have a name. It's like boats in our country, and here not every boat has it's name, some of them have just numbers.

Marsaxlokk

W końcu i ja trochę zgłodniałam.

Finally I'm hungry, too. I go to Cafe de Paris, recommended by Aga from 'The Whole life in a Journey' to have a salad with octopus. Hmm, the octopus tastes so and so. I love fried one, this one is a kind of nondescriptly. But the fact is that it's enough to be full.
It's already afternoon, the market is finished, for me it's time to go. I get a direction to St. Peter's Pool. All the people recommend that place very much.
